Our Commitment to Safety

JJ’s Waste & Recycling has a strong focus on work health and safety in all areas of our business. The Company has developed an Integrated Management System (IMS) to ensure safety is maintained to the highest standard and in-line with relevant guidelines and legislation.

Our leadership team are committed to the continual improvement of WH&S procedures and processes, which involves consulting with all staff for their feedback.

Under our IMS, each depot is provided with a series of Manuals and Operator Handbooks for the day-to-day management of their operations. This means our safety message and practices are consistently displayed at each JJ’s Waste location.

At JJ’s Waste & Recycling our most important consideration is the safety of our employees, customers, contractors and the wider community. Announcement Regarding Hawkes Bay Flooding

All JJ’s Commercial & Residential Waste & Recycling Collection Services in the Hawkes Bay Region

All Hastings District Council Domestic collections have re-commenced as scheduled.

All Commercial & JJ’s Residential collection services are now resumed for Napier & Hastings where accessible.

We will do our very best to complete all scheduled services, but we may be delayed due to roads and traffic. Safety of our staff, the public and our trucks is first priority, if the driver deems access not to be suitable for any reason, we will unfortunately not be able to service your bin. Please do your best to have your bin positioned where we can access it safely.

If you were due a scheduled collection of waste or recycling as a commercial or residential JJ’s customer (not council refuse), between Tuesday the 14th to Friday the 17th of February, please retain your waste and we will do our best to collect it on your next scheduled service day. No cancelled service collections will be automatically rebooked, but instead we will of course be zeroing the charges for empties not performed.

If your bin has gone missing, has been severely damaged by the cyclone or your property is temporarily / permanently vacant after the cyclone, then please contact us to make arrangements.

Our customer service team are doing their very best to keep up with your calls and emails, but please be patient with any delays.

Please monitor our website for further updates.

Stay safe and thank you for your understanding during this challenging time.
